Hi Everyone!
Another great day in Sacramento! Partly cloudy, slight breeze…..beautiful! The energy around the capitol was a bit different today – more chaotic and definitely more unfocused. Compared to the Tea Party Rally yesterday where the messages and energy were quite focused, today was a bit “unruly.” There were lots of kids and plenty of dogs! Funny thing about kids and dogs, they both seem to follow whatever catches their attention! Dogs without leashes and kids without direction – you won’t find anyone or anything happier! My, my…what would the world look like if we all gave into the enthusiasm, curiosity and excitement depicted by dogs without leashes and kids without direction! Awesome!
On the other hand, the adults walking the cement pathways around the Capitol Park definitely appeared to have someplace to go and something to do. They seemed oblivious to the stillness of the towering Redwoods and the majestic presence of the capitol itself. Yet, I could tell that they felt “safe” here. There is a sense of Truth found in the stillness, the rude magnificence of the trees and the stately presence of the capitol building. And in that Truth, people feel “safe” - whether conscious or not.
After walking a few laps and trying out several benches, I decided to go into the capitol. I moved rather quickly through the newer part of the building and headed toward the older wing to find the Senate and Assembly chambers. The Assembly is on the left side of the capitol. It is decorated in rich hues of green, and has a very “open,” inviting and “common” feel. Abraham Lincoln’s portrait “presides” over the chamber at the front. On the right side of the building is the Senate. The Senate is done in reds and pinks, and feels more “law-like” and more “stately.” George Washington keeps a watchful eye over this chamber. Below the portrait of Washington is a phrase written in Latin and embossed in gold, reminding each Senator that they are there to “protect our liberties.” Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom, also has a presence in the Senate as she does on the Great Seal of California. Both the Assembly and Senate are very impressive in their simplistic décor and seem to have a built-in “standard” of Truth about them. This is difficult to capture but I can feel an expectation of Truth in these rooms - but you have to be aware to sense it. It occurs to me, that everything has been set up to support Truth - the chambers, the capitol, the grounds, the curving walkways, the rudely magnificent trees…It is true that I can sense the lower levels of consciousness which lie in the “party” mentality but also present is a very powerful foundation for a state of Truth. You can feel it when you walk in and you can feel it on the capitol grounds. You just have to pay attention and be conscious.
After today’s observations, it has now occurred to me that more attention needs to be given to our Senators and Assembly Men and Women! The foundation for voting their conscience, listening to their hearts and rising above the rational is already here. It’s found in Truth. Our representatives need to be given the permission to “Go Beyond the Rational.” They need to be told they have our support in doing what is truly right for the State of California – independent of party lines. Though I plan to continue “warming the place up” for the rest of the week, I am also going to begin to contact representatives and give them my heartfelt permission to do what they feel is right. If you feel so called, I hope you will join me.
Much Love and Gratitude,
Karrie
